The Course aims to:
- equip the participants with concepts and principles of food safety;
- equip them with concepts and principles of the hazards in food and drink; its etiology, health and nutrition implications, prevention and control measures; and
- provide them with knowledge of the various food safety systems which they can apply in their respective institutions.
The target participants to this activity are provincial/city/municipal health officers, nutritionists-dietitians, food technologists, school health officers, sanitary engineers, sanitary inspectors, food regulatory officers, hotel and food services managers, quality assurance managers, hygiene and sanitation officers, executive chefs, health education and promotion officers, teachers/educators and students.
The conduct of this activity must not disrupt classes as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.”
