The participants are expected to benefit from the short course by equipping them with concepts and principles of food safety: the hazards in food and drink; its etiology, health and nutrition implications, prevention and control measures. This Course also aims to provide them with knowledge of the various food safety systems which they can apply in their respective institutions.
The target participants to this activity are provincial/city/municipal health officers, nutritionist-dietitians, food technologists, school health officers, sanitary inspectors, food regulatory officers, hotel and food services managers, quality assurance managers, hygiene and sanitation officers, executive chefs, health education and promotion officers, teachers/educators and students from both public and private institutions.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
