First National Conference on Humanities and Education

The Pangasinan State University (PSU) will hold the First National Conference on Humanities and Education on November 18-19, 2011 at the Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan. This activity is co-sponsored by the Step Up International and the Philosophical Association of Northern Luzon (PANL), Inc.
The theme of the conference is "Exploring the Roles of Philosophy in the Reinvigoration of Philippine Education Curriculum and the Campus Journalism Enterprise.” This is aligned to the celebration of the 9th UNESCO World Philosophy Day, which is set in November 2011.

The conference aims to to provide an avenue for students and educators to be oriented with the salient points of academic progress and updates which shall redound to the advancement in the fields of Humanities and Education.
The target participants are student-teachers of the Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) from Regions I, II, III and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and other regions, legislators, local government officials, directors and representatives of the Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED), school administrators, department heads, principals and supervisors in all levels, elementary and high school teachers particularly those involved in the instruction of subjects in Values Education (VE), Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC), History under Araling Panlipunan, and English.

A registration fee of One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP1,500.00) will be charged to each participant inclusive of modules, meals, kit, and certificate of participation.
