- give students and other people a chance to deepen their awareness and appreciation of indigenous culture;
- allow cultural exchanges which will foster deeper cultural understanding to sustain a culture of peace;
- provide a venue for indigenous peoples to celebrate the richness of their cultures;
- recognize the expertise and contributions of indigenous communities; and
- advocate the preservation as well as integration of traditional culture into the national cultural mainstream.
The attendance of DepEd participants shall be on official business. The student-participants to this festival shall be given enough time to prepare for make-up classes for the missed quizzes and other examinations, and to comply with other requirements of the different subject areas.
There will be no registration fee but board and lodging and other related expenses to be incurred by the DepEd participants shall be charged to local funds, regional/division/school PTA, school board funds (SBF) and other sources and grants subject to its availability and the usual accounting and auditing rule: and regulations. (Accommodation in schools for DepEd participants can be provided through prior coordination with Mr. Jun Jamero, Tagum City Tourism Council.
