The Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation will hold the 4th Bagasbas
Beach International Eco-Arts Festival (BBIEAF) with the theme "Degrees"
from February 27 to March 4, 2012 in Daet, Camarines Norte. The BBIEAF
is a showcase of the meeting of the community and the artists and a
festival which looks to the product of this interaction and impresses
the equal importance of community participation in the artistic process.
The ills of pollution, declining biodiversity and wasteful management
of resources takes center stage in this festival.
This activity aims to: - allow the participants to view at a form of creativity which they can use to manage their everyday lives and to create solutions to their problems;
- give the vast number of the disadvantaged fellow Filipinos the experience of Art as a tool for development; and
- focus on the environment its problems, its conservation, and its solutions.
The Foundation invited international artists who will work with the ten (10) communities in Camarines Norte to create installation pieces at Bagasbas Beach; three (3) international artists who will create three (3) public furniture; and four (4) international artists who will create video installations.
