The SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award aims to:
- raise awareness level of ESD in schools and communities across Southeast Asia;
- promote ESD practices in schools and communities across Southeast Asia;
- share and exchange knowledge and best practices on ESD in schools across Southeast Asia and Japan; and
- encourage networking among schools and communities which implement ESD practices in both Southeast Asian countries and Japan.
All public and private schools in the eleven (11) SEAMEO-member countries namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam are invited to submit best practices on reducing risk and loss from natural disasters.
Each school can submit a maximum of two (2) entries with one (1) accomplished submission form for each entry. The submission of the school Disaster Risk Reduction activity/ programme must be done through the template "Submission Form of SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award.” The Submission Form can be downloaded from the SEAMEO website: www.seameo.org. This can also be requested by sending an e-mail to: seameojapan.award@seameo.org.
This year, the last day of submission of entries is on August 10, 2012.
