The suggested activities for elementary and high school students are the following:
1. Book Marathon Contest
A quiz contest in which the questions will be coming from assigned popular books (classics, contemporary children's and young, adult books);2. Book Club
The teacher or Book Club coordinator may assign a book for the students to read and discuss;3. Storytelling Contest for both students and teachers
4. Book Fairs/Book Swaps
The school heads may invite local publishers to come to their schools and conduct book fairs or encourage students to bring their own books to schools and swap them with those of other students;5. Performance Readings or Stage Adaptations of Literary Classics
The students/pupils from different levels are required to stage a performance based on a novel or short story by a Philippine literary icon like Jose Rizal, Francisco Balagtas, Nick Joaquin, etc.; and6. Poetry Readings
The elementary pupils and high school students from both public and private schools and teachers are invited to join in said celebration.Moreover, the NBDB is also organizing the 2nd Manila International Literary Festival on November 16-18, 2011 at the Intercontinental Manila, Makati City.
