The week-long celebration will be observed on November 10-17, 2012. This will be spearheaded by the LINK Center for the Deaf.
With the theme: Deaf and Able, the observance aims to enhance significant public awareness on the prevention, early detection, intervention, rehabilitation and education of the people with hearing impairment together with able peers.
All public, private and special schools with Special Education (SPED) Centers and programs for the deaf are encouraged to undertake the following activities provided that the Engaged Time-on-Task Policy shall be observed as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005:
- Run for FAn (Fully Abled Nation)
- Sports Events
- Video Making Workshop
- Story Telling (caravan)
- Hearing Test (BHPI, UST)
- Recollection for Deaf Students
- Photo Exhibit
- Sayaw, Hataw, Galaw!
- Fora on Deaf Awareness
- Symposium for parents and other stakeholders
- Open House Exhibit
