Organizational Structure of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC)
The CICC is composed of the following officers:
Chairman: is the Chairman of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT)
Vice-Chairman: is the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)
Members:
- the Chief of Philippine National Police (PNP)
- Chief of the National Prosecution Service (NPS)
- Head of the National Computer Center (NCC)
Duties and Responsibilities of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination (CICC)
The functions of the CICC are the following:
- To prepare and implement appropriate and effective measures to prevent and suppress cybercrime activities as provided Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012;
- To monitor cybercrime cases being handled by participating law enforcement and prosecution agencies.
- To facilitate international cooperation on intelligence, investigations, training and capacity building related to cybercrime prevention, suppression and prosecution;
- To coordinate the support and participation of the business sector, local government units, and non-government organizations in cybercrime prevention programs and other related projects
- To recommend the enactment of appropriate laws, issuances, measures and policies
- To call upon any government agency to render assistance in the accomplishment of the CICC's mandated tasks and functions;
- To perform such other functions and duties necessary for the proper implementation of this Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
