The Goi Peace Foundation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific
and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will conduct the 2011 International
Essay Contest for Young People with the theme "My Story of Inspiration."
(Picture) 2011 International Essay Contest for Young People The contest aims to: - harness the energy, imagination and initiative of the world's youth in promoting a culture of peace and sustainable development; and
- inspire the society to learn from the young minds and to think about how each of them can make a difference in the world.
The teachers and youth directors may submit a collection of essays from their class or group, enclosing the list of participants and the contact details of the submitting teacher or director. The deadline for submission of entries is June 30, 2011, and may be sent through postal mail at International Essay Contest c/o The Goi Peace Foundation, Heiwa Daiichi Bldg. 1-4-5 Hirakawacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, 102-0093 Japan or send them on-line through www.goipeace.or.jp. The winners wi11 be announced in November 2011 at the Goi Foundation website at www.goipeace.or.jp and at the UNESCO website at .unesco.org/youth.
