41st International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People 2012

The Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) based in Berne, Switzerland have recently launched the 41st International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People (2012) with the theme "Write a Letter to an Athlete or Sports Figure You Admire to Explain at the Olympic Games Mean to You." The activity aims to promote better understanding among the youth around the world through the postal service.

Compositions must be in the form of a letter and contain the elements of a letter (place and date, addressee's address, opening and closing salutation and signature. On a separate sheet of paper, the participant must indicate the following:

1. Number of Words of the Letter Composition;
2. Complete Name and Home Address;
3. Gender of Candidate
4. Age and/or Date of Birth;
5. Color Photo of Candidate (2x2); and 7. Contact Numbers (Telephone/Cellphone)
   

The contest is open to all elementary and high school students, fifteen (15) years or younger, from both public and private schools as well as out of school youth.

First Prize - PhP15,000.00 + Medal, Plaque and Stamp Albums
Second Prize  - PhP10,000.00 + Medal, Plaque and Stamp Albums
Third Prize - PhP5,000.00 + Medal, Plaque and Stamp Albums
