Today (June 9, 2012), when I tried to visit the Department of Education (DepEd) website, a warning page appeared and stated that the website has a malware. It also warned that visiting the DepEd website can harm the computer. What I thought immediately was that the DepEd website might be compromised or hacked.
This is the warning page from Google Chrome browser:
The same thing happened when I used Firefox browser this webpage appeared:
If you search in Google using the keywords, "deped website inaccessible", you could find astonishing results:
Here are my thoughts why the browsers warn a user to visit the DepEd website: - That the DepEd website might be hacked or compromised.
- The codes might be out of place such as a tag is placed below a closing tag.
- Someone was probably injecting a malicious code that contains data from a certain site.
- Or the site has been infected with a virus through the files uploaded in the server.
The Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic stated that of the 11 pages of DepEd's website they tested on the site over the past 90 days , 5 pages resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google (Google bot) visited this site was on June 8, 2012, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on June 7, 2012
What do you think? Has the DepEd website been hacked? - https://www.affordablecebu.com/
