Bagong Kasaysayan (BAKAS) National Conference on Dr. Jose P. Rizal

The Bagong Kasaysayan (BAKAS), Inc. in partnership with the Social Science Department, Miriam College will hold the National Conference on Dr. Jose P. Rizal with the theme "Sina Jose, Paciano, Josefa at Trinidad: Ang Pamilya Rizal Mercado sa Harap ng Krisis ng Lipunang Pilipino noong ika-19 na Dantano," on September 15-16, 2011 at the Little Theater, Miriam College, Katipunan, Quezon City.
The conference aims to:

1. enable the participants to arrive at a holistic understanding of Rizal as the person and his heroism by placing him within the context of the Rizal-Mercado clan; and
2. know how the Rizal-Mercado clan, as a Filipino family confronted the challenges posed by the social crisis of their times.

The participants to this activity are teachers from both public and private schools, professors and educators nationwide.

The registration fees are as follows:

Conference with the Lakbay-Aral Package (September 15-17, 2011)

• PhP2,000.00 (for BAKAS, Inc. members)
• PhP2,300.00 (for Non-BAKAS, Inc. members)
• Inclusions: conference kit (paper and ball pen, program abstracts of papers and CD); lunch and snacks for three (3) days; book and certificates of participation and attendance; and for September 17 lecture on-site and on-board by a historian

Conference without the Lakbay-Aral Package (September 15-16, 2011)

• PhP1,200.00 (for BAKAS, Inc. members)
• PhP1,500 (for Non-BAKAS, Inc. members)
• Inclusions: conference kit (paper and ball pen, program abstracts of papers and CD); lunch and snacks for two (2) days; book and certificates of participation and attendance

The participants will shoulder and make arrangements for their own board and lodging.
