With the theme "Collaborative and Inclusive Strategies of Teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to Students with Visual Impairment," the Congress aims to:
- discuss and address further needs of students with visual impairment on the area of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM);
- build partnership among all stakeholders in ensuring access and full participation in education for all children with visual impairment and youth; and
- inspire teachers and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment in their work.
Participants to this activity are SPED teachers and regular teachers, school admistrators from both public and private schools, education supervisors in SPED at the division and regional offices, chiefs/assistant chiefs of the elementary and secondary education divisions, schools division/city superintendents and assistant schools division/city superintendents. The government organizations and non-government organizations working with children with visual impairment and youth are also invited to attend. Public school participants are allowed to attend on official business.
Transportation, registration fees, per diem and other allowable expenses incident to the participation of those coming from the government institutions shall be charged to local funds (SPED Downloaded Funds) subject to its availability and the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Participants from private institutions shall make their own financial arrangement with their respective schools/offices.
