The Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Science Malaysia
(USM), Penang, Malaysia, will conduct the 4th National Conference on
Graphing Calculators (NCGC) 2011 on June 21-23, 2011 at the Hotel
Equatorial, Penang, Malaysia.
The conference aims to provide a forum for educators in Malaysia to exchange their ideas, and to communicate and discuss issues on the use of graphing calculators to educators from all over the world in the teaching and learning of mathematics and science at all levels. The areas of focus include Pedagogical Strategies, Assessment, Curriculum, and Professional Development for Teachers. Presenters from the United States of America (USA), Canada, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore will talk about the usage of this technology in their country. The organizer has extended its invitation to the Department of Education (DepEd) to consider sending officers, decision or policy makers and educators who use this technology in science and mathematics education. The sessions will focus on hands-on workshop, whereby all the educators who have not been exposed to the technology will be given the opportunity to use the graphing calculators and data loggers.
