The Conference aims to:
- commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio;
- define his role in the founding of the Katipunan;
- understand the place of the Katipunan in shaping the 1896 Philippine Revolution;
- develop a critical understanding of the 1896 Philippine Revolution and the creation of a Filipino nation-state from 1898 to 1899; and
- develop new modes of teaching the 1896 Revolutionary Period.
The target participants to this activity are heads of both public and private basic education institutions (BEIs).
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
