The week-long celebration aims to generate awareness, acceptance and understanding on people with autism to provide equal rights, access to education, services and facilities enjoyed by the non-disabled people.
In support to this occasion, all public and private schools especially schools with programs for Children with Autism and Special Education (SPED) Centers are encouraged to undertake any of the following activities (provided that they engaged Time-On Task Policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 shall be observed):
- hanging of streamers;
- launching of 1Pangako Campaign;
- quiz A;
- for children with Autism-academic
- for pupils/students in the regular classes-knowledge and information about autism
- on-the-spot painting contest;
- community and parents' forum on understanding passengers with autism and possible employment
- disaster preparedness activities for people with autism; and
- week-long exhibit on educational services offered to Children with Autism.
