70TH COMMEMORATION OF THE ARAW NG KAGITINGAN
AND PHILIPPINE VETERANS WEEK
CONTEST MECHANICS
4th NATIONAL CREATIVE PAINTING CONTEST
(GUHIT NG KABAYANIHAN AT KAGITINGAN)
1. The contest is open to all high students (1st to 4th year) enrolled in any public or private secondary schools nationwide. The school should be duly recognized by the Department of Education.
2. The theme of the competition is "BETERANO: Tagasulong ng Tunay at Walang Humpay na Pagbabago". It aims to increase awareness of the Araw Ng Kagitingan as a shining moment of courage and commitment to freedom by our WWII veterans.
3. The painting should be in a 20" x 30" illustration board. A message must be type-written (Filipino or English) and placed at the back.
4. Criteria are as follows:
- Originality 40%
- Visual Impact 30%
- Message 30%
Total 100%
5. All entries must be submitted not later than March 29, 2011. Each entry must be accompanied by the following requirements:
- A certification from the principal that the contestant is enrolled in the current school year (SY 2010-2011);
- Scanned image of the student and the principals, school ID or any valid ID; and
- The accomplished entry form.
6. Entries should be submitted to:

7. Prizes are as follows:
- First Prize Cash Prize + Medal + Certificates + Trophy for the school
- Second Prize Cash Prize + Medal + Certificates + Trophy for the school
- Third Prize Cash Prize + Medal + Certificates + Trophy for the school
8. The DND and DepED have the right to publish the entries and have the right to own the paintings.
9. Previous winners in the national Creative Painting Competition are not allowed to join this contest.
10. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
