National Book Development Board (NBDB) Highly Recommended Supplementary Materials Exhibition

The National Book Development Board (NBDB) will present the NBDB’s Highly Recommended Supplementary Materials Exhibition on November 27-28, 2012 at the Megatrade Hall 1, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
The Exhibition aims to help teachers and administrators in selecting books for supplementary reading and library acquisition. It will feature award-winning books and other reading materials endorsed by NBDB. During the exhibit renowned educators and writers will also lecture on Textbook Development in the Mother Tongue, Translating Textbooks in the Mother Tongue, Teaching with a Local Cultural Perspective, How to Choose Supplementary Instructional Materials, and other related topics.

The target participants to this activity are teachers and administrators from both public and private schools.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.

I have a question regarding on textbooks used by high schools. What are the basis in choosing the books for public schools? why is it they are using SD publication or rex and not other publishing inc. for example? thank you for your immediate answer.
