1st National Pre-service Teachers Convention (PreSet 2011)

The Philippine Normal University (PNU), through the National Center for Teacher Education (NCTE), will hold the final stream of the 1st National Pre-service Teachers Convention also known as PreSet 2011 on November 20-23, 2011 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City. The PreSet is a 4-day gathering of pre-service student-teacher and faculty-coach delegates from various teacher education institutions (TEIs) across the country for updates, exhibitions of pedagogical content knowledge, skills and talents, and linkage opportunities. This activity primarily aims to enhance the pre-service teachers’ professional preparations for education teachers with opportunities to:

1. keep abreast with the most relevant issues and concerns in education;
2. engage in fora which respond to the pressing demands of teaching and learning;
3. showcase their exceptional talents, knowledge and skills in teaching and learning different content areas; and
4. establish linkages and networks between and among teacher education institutions and pre-service teachers of the Philippines.
   

After the conduct of the first two streams, the PreSet is now gearing up for the final stream designed for the Secondary Education Program. With the feedback on the value of the program even for the basic education teachers, the PNU invites the secondary school teachers to update them on education from the plenary sessions, and to acquire new ideas to enhance teaching and learning by witnessing the performances in the competitive events.
The target participants are the pre-service students and in-service teachers in the Secondary Education Program of the public and private teacher education institutions nationwide.

The registration fee which includes kit, certificate, snacks (6) and lunch (3), is as follows:

Groups of 10	11th delegates gets 50% discount

Payment may be made through cash payment over the PNU Cashier Office, and/or through bank deposit to PNU’s Landbank Account No.: 1982-1011-28, PNU Special Trust Fund, YMCA-Manila Branch.
