The Convention aims to:
- gather teachers, school administrators and education personnel to support the meaningful programs of the Department of Education (DepEd);
- provide the participants with information on pertinent education issues;
- solicit proposals to improve the entire education sector-basic and higher education both in private and public; and
- strengthen the teachers’ organizations in the grassroots as mandated by existing laws, e.g. Republic Act (RA) No. 4670 and Executive Order (EO) No. 180.
The participants to this activity shall be identified by the TDC Secretariat and shall be submitted to the respective regional directors (RDs) and schools division/city superintedents (SDSs). Those who want to attend as observers may also join provided that they will coordinate with TDC secretariat/regional leaders.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled: Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
