In the latest release of National Statistics Office (NSO) 2010 Census of Population which was published on April 4, 2012, the most populated province in the Philippines is Cavite.
Cavite had the largest number of population with 3.09 million people. The second province with largest population is Bulacan with 2.92 million.
Philippines has a total of 81 provinces. The other provinces that reached above 2 million mark are listed below: - Laguna - 2.67 million
- Cebu - 2.62 million
- Rizal - 2.48 million
- Negros Occidental - 2.40 million
- Batangas - 2.38 million
- Pampanga - 2.01 million
The provinces with less than 100,000 people are: - Siquijor - 91,066
- Camiguin - 83,807
- Batanes - 16,604
Pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 72 and Commonwealth Act 591, NSO conducted this 2010 Census of Population and Housing in May to June 2010 in order to collect information of the population and housing units in the Philippines.
