Camarote, Business Development Manager (4th fr. right).
EPMI is headed by Mr. Antonio T. Aquino who is the Director and President of Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI). Its roster of officers proved that it has an expert human resources and staff who are familiar with the rules and regulations issued by the ERC. EPMI also has the technical ability to set-up the business-to-business (B2B) system, an information technology (IT) that handles information exchange among competitive retail market participants to have an efficient switching by end-users in the competitive retail market. Apart from the B2B system, EPMI is also technically capable to: (1) Enter into any necessary access or interconnection arrangements or other required contracts with one or more distribution utilities (DUs) and the National Grid Corporation of the Phils. (NGCP); (2) Secure generation through compliance with all applicable requirements of the Market Operator (MO); and (3) Meet transactional requirements with the MO, or its contractual obligations with any participant. On the financial aspect, EPMI has shown proof that it is financially capable to engage in the retail electricity supply business.
EPMI intends to supply the energy requirement of contestable customers within the Laguna Technopark, Inc. (LTI) with the initial demand of 100 MW. This market share will increase as the company attracts additional market in other industrial parks in the Calabarzon Region and other possible similar areas to serve and contract with generators. EPMI shall source power from bilateral contract with the existing IPPs, new generation companies, and the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
EPMI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of LTI, which in turn, is a subsidiary of the ALI. It was incorporated and registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in August 2010 with the primary business purpose to purchase, supply and deliver electricity.
"The ERC welcomes Ecozone Power Management, Inc. (EPMI) as part of the electric power industry being the 17th licensed Retail Electricity Supplier (RES). Having more RES around means that the contestable customers (those consuming 100 MW monthly average peak demand) have more electricity providers to choose from, which promotes free and fair competition,” ERC Chairperson Zenaida G. Cruz-Ducut stated.
