Narrative Essay Writing Competition on Calidad Humana

The Embassy of Chile, in collaboration with the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and the University of Santo Tomas (UST), will conduct the nationwide "Narrative Essay Writing Competition on Calidad Humana” which extends from September 2011 to the deadline of entries on January 10, 2012. Calidad Humana is translated loosely as "sense of humanity or strength of character.” The competition aims to highlight the Filipino people’s strength of character and sense of humanity manifested in extraordinary events or in their day-to-day life.

The competition is open to high school and college students who are good writers nationwide. There shall be only one (1) entry per student.

Each of the three (3) winners shall receive the following:

1. Roundtrip ticket for two (2) to Cebu City or Boracay;
2. US$1,000 pocket money cash reward for first prize;
3. US$ 600 pocket money cash reward for second prize; and
4. US$ 400 pocket money cash reward for third prize.
