MATHED will hold International Conference in Mathematics Education

The Philippine Council of Mathematics Teacher Educators (MATHED), Inc. will hold the International Conference in Mathematics Education with the theme, "Strengthening Competence Through Ethnomathemtics" at Columban College, Olongapo City on October 21-22, 2011. The conference aims to:

1. update mathematics educators and specialists on the current trends and issues concerning mathematics education and research;
2. identify appropriate and effective teaching and research approaches that can be utilized in the mathematics classroom for students at different levels;
3. help strengthen the commitment of mathematics educators in promoting understanding, interest, and appreciation of mathematics; and
4. serve as a venue for mathematics teachers, teacher educators, and researchers to work together and she their knowledge in teaching approaches and researches that could contribute to an improved mathematics education in the country and throughout the world.
   

The participants to this activity are mathematics teachers, educators and researchers, supervisors, and administrators from both public and private schools.

A registration fee of three Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP3,500.00) or Three Thousand Pesos (PhP3,000.00) if paid on or before August 31, 2011 inclusive of conference kit, two meals, four snacks and a certificate of participation.
