The Proclamation encourages all government agencies to initiate and implement programs and activities to help generate awareness and public support in promoting the said occasion in offices, schools, universities, local government units (LGUs) and business establishments.

In celebration of the ASEAN Week, all public and private elementary and secondary schools are enjoined to undertake activities integrated in related subject areas during the regular classroom discussions in which students could actively participate, such as essay writing contests, wearing of national costumes of ASEAN member-states and other commemorative activities.

The activities to be undertaken, however, must not disrupt the contact time between the teachers and learners as provided for in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith."
