Vicsal Foundation, Inc. Company Profile

Vicsal Foundation, Incorporated (VSF) (established on February 20, 1996) is a non-stock, non-profit private domestic corporation of Metro Gaisano Family. It serves as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the Metro Gaisano companies. The name "Vicsal” is a combination of the first names of Victor and Sally Gaisano, the founders towards education (through scholarship grants), community outreach, environmental conservation and management, and donation of physical infrastructure. VSF envisions a society where citizens are skilled and self-sufficient, and the underprivileged, the sick and the victims of calamities are empowered.
Vicsal Foundation, Inc. receives its income primarily from donations of the Vicsal Development Corporation. It is governed by a 9-person Board of Trustees while its day-to-day operations are handled by a Program & Evaluation Officer/Administrative Officer and supported by a team of volunteers coming from VICSAL. VSF has been duly accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification and is currently enjoying a status of being a tax-exempt and qualified-donee institution registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue. VSF is a member of the League of Corporate Foundations.

The Vicsal Foundation, Inc was registered with the Securities of Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on February 20, 1996. It is a family/corporate foundation. Its main office is located at the 5th Flr. Metro Gaisano Ayala Building, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City.

It was certified for 1 year on April 4, 2007  which ended on April 3, 2008.

Its purposes, among others, are:

1. to sponsor or facilitate formal and non-formal methods of instruction to particular sub-groups of the population;
   
2. to help the government and other civic-oriented organizations provide better facilities and services to the general public;
3. support the government and other civic-oriented organizations develop and enrich livelihood opportunities for the underprivileged;
4. extend relief to the underprivileged, the sick and victims of calamities. The Foundation’s programs now focus on the following areas:  Education, Community Outreach, Infrastructure & Environment Management.
