Why does my asus laptop keep disconnecting from the internet?

I have an asus sonic master atheros ar5b125 and at my university my phone connects to the internet fine but this laptop can't stay connected for more than 30 minutes without me having to restart it to get it to connect to the internet again. I have uninstalled a lot of needless programs that it came with to try to remedy the problem but hasn't fixed much. This is a new computer and it should not be doing this please help!

"People may suffer from asus laptop wifi not working issue due to the computer or driver settings, Whenever you are unable to access the wifi, here is the solution to fix the problem.

First of all, you should restart the laptop and then turn on the wifi manually. Now keep your laptop nearby the router, and then connect your laptop through wireless network.Let’s update the wireless driver on your pc.Sometimes, you may have wifi trouble due to the encryption issue, so you should change the encryption type of your wifi, also make the changes in the wifi profile, now try to connect your laptop with the new profile. After using these techniques, if your asus laptop is still not working, you may remove the wifi driver and install a new driver into your pc. let’s see if it is working now or not?"

"In software aspect, there is only a few things you could do, like what @kristenp mentioned.

If you find out the wireless card not working, I strongly recommend you buy a refurbished wireless card on eBay."

"Very, very late, lol, but in case anyone else out there has had this problem, this solution HASN’T fixed it fully for me but did help a lot. I’m no tech guy, but I read this on another forum and it seems like it couldn’t hurt to try. I feel the need to mention that, of course, this solution is for a 2021 computer. So anyone looking for this in the future, take note of the fact that I’m posting in 2021 and not 2018.

Right click the internet symbol in the taskbar (d_wade25 describes it as a little globe with a circle with a slash through it, this is when it’s not working. when it is working it looks like wifi bars if you’re on a wifi connection. this solution will work whether your internet is currently working or not)Open Network & Internet settingsIn the Status tab, under Advanced network settings, you’ll see an option “Change adapter options”If it is WiFi that’s not functioning consistently, rightclick WiFi and choose Properties, then Configure. Go to Power Management tabAha! What’s that? You’re currently looking at the settings for your computer’s thingy-that-lets-it-get-on-the-internet-thingy (Adapter), and yes indeed, that’s the option to just plain turn it off to conserve power, nested in like a billion menus. God dang it.Uncheck that. Pour yourself a drink."
