Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center

As part of the national cyber security plan in the Philippines to prevent and stop cybercrimes, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) is created under the supervision and control of the Office of the President.
Organizational Structure of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC)

The CICC is composed of the following officers:

Chairman: is the Chairman of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT)
Vice-Chairman: is the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)

Members:

• the Chief of Philippine National Police (PNP)
• Chief of the National Prosecution Service (NPS)
• Head of the National Computer Center (NCC)

The CICC shall be operated by the secretariat of selected personnel and representatives from different agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination (CICC)

The functions of the CICC are the following:

• To prepare and implement appropriate and effective measures to prevent and suppress cybercrime activities as provided Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012;
• To monitor cybercrime cases being handled by participating law enforcement and prosecution agencies.
• To facilitate international cooperation on intelligence, investigations, training and capacity building related to cybercrime prevention, suppression and prosecution;
• To coordinate the support and participation of the business sector, local government units, and non-government organizations in cybercrime prevention programs and other related projects
• To recommend the enactment of appropriate laws, issuances, measures and policies
• To call upon any government agency to render assistance in the accomplishment of the CICC's mandated tasks and functions;
• To perform such other functions and duties necessary for the proper implementation of this Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
