The Starlab is a small portable version of the permanently installed planetarium. It is an inflatable dome that can accommodate 30-40 students. A novel projector can show the night sky with very realistic stars, planets and the moon found inside this planetarium. This a product of Learning Technologies, Inc. from Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America (U.S.A).
The Starlab dome aims to help students rediscover their place in the universe through the day and night time sky and to engage them in a personal sense of wonder and discovery.
It includes the following activities:
- stargazing at the virtual night sky inside the Starlab dome;
- viewing the photo exhibit of deep space objects like the galaxies, nebullas, comets, and supernova; and
- watching the multimedia presentation about space exploration, planets of the solar system, birth of a star and many more.
