Hands-On Minds-On: Microscale Chemistry Workshop

The Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST) and the Philippine Science Centrum (PSC) will conduct the Hands-On Minds-On Microscale Chemistry Workshop on the following dates: April 11-12, 18-19; and May 8-9; 22-23, 2012 at the Philippine Science Centrum, E-Com Building in the Riverbanks Center, Barangka, Marikina City. The workshop aims to:

1. provide the Chemistry teachers with inexpensive tools and materials which each of their students can use for their Chemistry lessons;
2. demonstrate and provide them with hands-on experiences in performing sixteen (16) different Chemistry lessons; and
3. challenge them to utilize everyday objects in teaching Chemistry and provide the students the opportunity to discover Chemistry principles through the hands-on projects.
   

The target participants are the Science supervisors, master teachers and Chemistry teachers from both public and private schools.

The learning investment fee of Three Thousand Two Hundred Pesos (PhP3,200.00) shall be charged to each participant which includes the "LAB in a Box” kit, teachers/students guides for fifteen experiments and activities, workshop handouts/materials, certificate, snacks and lunch for two (2) days, a guided tour of the Science hands-on exhibits of the Philippine Science Centrum and other related expenses.
