In February 11, 2012, the list of official candidates to the Binibining (Bb) Pilipinas beauty pageant was announced. They were 30 candidates who passed the rigorous training at the Gateway Suites, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City (Philippines).

Among these candidates, the prominent are Janine Tugonon, who won the 1st runner-up Binibining Pilipinas 2011 and Mary Jean Lastimosa, 2nd runner-up.

All 30 candidates passed the tough screening process and requirements of Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI). BPCI considered the following criteria:
  • beauty
  • intelligence
  • personal achievements
  • personal style
  • physical fitness
  • and charisma

Coronation night will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City in April 15. It will be broadcast live on ABS-CBN Channel 2.
