Dolphy - the King of Comedy
As I am getting more curious, I've read more news from reliable sources and this is what I've discovered.
According to his son Eric Quizon, "he had this condition (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) for 5 years". That's he was in and out of hospital for several times.
Last Monday (June 18, 2012), the doctors tried to removed the respirator because Dolphy showed good vital signs. But he was only able to breath on his own for about 5 to 6 hours. So, the doctors had to put the respirator back."Medyo yung kidney niya, hindi na nagfu-function ng mabuti. Finifilter niya yung mga gamot. Sa dami ng gamot na naka-ano sa kanya noh? na ibinibigay sa kanya. Ang ibig sabihin nito...yung toxins umaabot sa ibang parts ng katawan niya. Right now, yung kidney nga niya, medyo, it's in a bad shape. At wala namang sinasabi ang doctor na ano pa. They're all trying their best na ma-stabilize siya.Right now, his blood pressure is ok. Dahil because of the medication ano... But like I said earlier, he's very critical, so I'm asking for everyone's prayers na sana yung mga... kasi nagdedeteriorate yung kanyang condition.So, ano lang, na magbago yon in next 3 hours. And then, like I said, we're hoping for a miracle. Siyempre gusto pa naming makasama ng matagal yung father namin. At the same time, yung family will accept kung ano man ang ipagkakaloob ng Diyos sa amin. Right now, he's in and out of consciousness. Kung baga parang sa sobra nong gamot, he's kinda groggy. Pero he responds kapagka tinatawag namin siya na Daddy or pag kinakausap namin siya, nagrerespond naman. Tinataas niya yung eyebrows niya or tinataas niya yung kamay niya.Right now, bumaba yung hemoglobin niya... we needed two units of B+ na blood type. Pero meron naman kaming nakuha. So right now, sinasalinan siya ng dugo."
Eric further reported in the press conference that, "He is fighting for his life. Talagang masasabi mo na he doesn't wanna let go."
So, this means that our very own comedian idol Dolphy is not really dead. We fervently pray for his life and may God blesses him more good health and long life.

New Update! Sad news: In July 10, 2012 - Dolphy was confirmed dead. After a month of fighting against the disease, Dolphy was dead at the age of 83.
According to the news report of GMA News TV's State of the Nation (SONA) with Jessica Soho, Dolphy was dead at 8:34pm today, July 10, 2012.
The close friend of Dolphy, German Moreno said that he had confirmed the death of the comedy king after he called Dolphy's grandson, Boy2 Quizon.
In June 9, 2012, Dolphy was confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering of shortness of breath.
Since he was hospitalized, he undergone several dialysis and blood transfusion. He had complications brought by pneumonia.
Eric Quizon said that his father Dolphy was already suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
According to the report of 24 Oras, Dolphy's son, Epi Quizon said that there was a new medication that his father used in order to alleviate his pneumonia at the result was positive. Epi further said that his father wanted to go home by what his father uttered in his mouth.
Dolphy would be celebrating his 84th birthday this July 25, 2012.
