National Congress for the Out-of-School Learners

The Philippine Association of Non-formal Educators, Inc. (PANFEI), in collaboration with the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) will hold the National Congress for the Out-of-School Learners with the theme "Kung ALS Learner Ka, Naiiba Ka” on April 17-19, 2012 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City. The National Congress aims to:

1. highlight the common concerns of ALS learners and identify opportunities and prospects which address those concerns;
2. generate positive responses from the learners in terms of helping improve themselves, their families and the communities where they belong;
3. instill pride among the ALS learners as lifelong learners; and
4. promote connectivity between and among the ALS learners and the ALS community.
   

The participants are the following:

1. DepEd Personnel
• Bureau, Center and Regional Directors;
• Schools Division/City Superintendents;
• Bureau/Regional ALS Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, EducationSupervisors II;
• Education Supervisors I in-charge of ALS;
• Public Schools District Supervisors;
• ALS Facilitators (Mobile Teachers, District ALS Coordinators) ; and
• BALS staff (committee members).
2. Non-DepEd Personnel
• ALS learners;
• ALS Gabay Aral Pamayanan (AGAP), Peer Educators, Instructional Managers, Literacy Facilitators, Service Providers; and
• (NGOs).
  

Each participant will be charged Six Thousand Pesos Only (PhP6,000.00) as payment for registration fee to cover the cost of board and lodging, speakers’ honoraria, kits, handouts, supplies and materials. The registration fee shall be paid on-site at the Teachers Camp to the PANFEI as the overall manager and initiator of the Congress.

The participants are expected to register on site on April 16. The first meal to be served will be dinner on April 16 and the last meal will be breakfast on April 20, 2012.
