First National Congress of Special Libraries of the Philippines

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) will conduct the First National Congress of Special Libraries of the Philippines with the theme "Moving Forward: Managing Libraries and Information Centers in a Fast Changing Environment" on October 19-21, 2011 at the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Baguio City. The congress aims to:

1. provide the participants with the new trends and challenges in managing libraries and information centers in the new environment;
2. provide the technical know-how to best serve clients of the different generations adoptive of the fast innovations in the field of information;
3. provide a state-of-the-art information and methods in the preservation and conservation of traditional and digital materials;
4. serve as a venue to learn and understand new innovations and techniques in generating, processing and disseminating information for its optimum and maximum use; and
5. foster camaraderie among librarians and information professionals through sharing of ideas and techniques being employed in managing their own institution.
   

The expected participants to the congress are librarians, administrators, archivists, records officers, support staff, teachers and students of Library and Information Science, consultants and other information professionals.

A registration fee of Five Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP5,500.00) shall be charged to each live-in participant, and Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00) to each live-out participant. The deadline for submission of confirmation of attendance is on September 30, 2011.
