Bunch Filing of Renewal of Professional ID's by Professional Teachers Employed By The Department of Education (DepEd)

WHEREAS, the Commission is mandated under Section 7, Paragraph (a) of Republic Act No. 8981 (PRC Modernization Act of 2000) to, among others things. administer, implement and enforce the regulatory policies of the national government with respect to the regulation and licensing of the various professions and occupations under its jurisdiction;

WHEREAS, the Department of Education (DepEd) is a government entity charged with the authority to enforce its mandate under Republic Act No. 9155, "An Act instituting a framework of governance for basic education, establishing authority and accountability, renaming the Department of Education, Culture and Sports as the Department of Education, and for other purposes";

WHEREAS, the Commission and the DepEd executed a Memorandum of Agreement on June 18, 2003 (Annex "A") that undertakes, among others, to allow bunch filing of applications for renewal of license (PRC ID card) of public school teachers on condition that the school superintendent, district supervisor, or the principal shall designate an official liaison personnel to facilitate the filing at PRC;

WHEREFORE, the Commission resolves, as it hereby resolved, to adopt and implement the abovementioned undertaking and hereby allows the bunch filing of applications for renewal of license (PRC ID card) of public school teachers employed by the Department of Education.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Board for Professional Teachers, the Office of Professional Teachers, all offices in the Central Office and Regional Offices, the Department of Education, and the UP Law Center for their information and guidance.

This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
