The Olympiad aims to:
- enable high school students with exemplary skills and talents in Chemistry to come together in the spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship;
- awaken greater interest in and promote the appreciation of Chemistry among students and teachers; and
- identify exemplary students and motivate them towards the development of their skills.
The target participants to this activity are students from National Capital Region (NCR) public and private secondary schools wherein each school is represented by a maximum of two (2) teams, each comprised of only three members.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of¬classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
