The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan in
cooperation with the Philippine Association of Former Japanese Scholars
(PHILAJAMES) and the University of Tokyo, will conduct the 3rd Teacher
Trainees Conference and the Japan Education Seminar on November 19, 2011
at the University of the Philippines-National Institute for Science and
Mathematics Education Development (UP-NISMED) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00
noon.
With the theme " Role of Educators and Schools in Disaster Prevention and
Risk Reduction,” the activity aims to provide a venue for sharing the
best practices in schools by the educators in disaster prevention and
risk reduction and to establish possible networks toward a more relevant
and operational disaster prevention and risk reduction program.
The Japan Education Seminar (1:00-6:00 p.m.) spearheaded by the Tokyo
University is part of the Global 30 Project for Establishing Core
Universities for Internalization (Global 30 Project) launched by Japan’s
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Under
the Project, the students can obtain degrees from prestigious Japanese
universities by taking academic programs conducted in English, both in
undergraduate and graduate levels. The registration is free.
