(UN) General Assembly on December 7, 1987. The event will be observed
simultaneously by all UN member-countries.
This year's celebration will be spearheaded by the Dangerous Drugs Board. The theme of this year's observance is "Mahalin ang Kalikasan, Ingatan ang Kalusugan, Droga'y Iwasan!" The goal of which is to inform the public, particularly the youth, on the value of a healthy lifestyle and to create awareness on the harmful effects of drugs as well as to promote civic consciousness and protection to the environment. All regional directors (RDs) and schools division superintendents (SDSs) are requested to support the celebration by enjoining the regions, divisions and schools to come up with appropriate related activities to include the putting-up of streamers (sample format enclosed) in their areas to commemorate the observance of the IDADAIT.
