"Combining and overlapping pictures can help you create a collage in Word.
Adding pictures to a Microsoft Word document can help enhance the message behind your content. Since there are several layers involved to a Word document that are independent of one another, you can include and layer pictures. You can also place WordArt on top of or behind your pictures. Layering pictures can help make your document appear creatively designed and you may also create a collage.

Step 5
Click on the text box's frame. Circle and square tabs will appear around the frame for you to adjust the height and width of the text box surrounding your picture. Place your cursor on a corner tab, click and hold down the mouse button as you drag it to the proper size to fit your picture.
Step 6
Place the text box picture over the other picture by holding down your mouse on the text box frame as you drag the picture over.
Tip Microsoft Word allows you to insert more than one picture on the same layer but does not allow you to overlap pictures on the same layer. When creating a text box as a new layer for a picture, you can remove the text box borderline surrounding your picture. Click on the text box frame to select it, right-click on your mouse and select ""Format Shape."" Select ""Line Color"" from the left and click on the ""No line"" radio button, then click ""Close"" when finished. You may also select to change which picture layer to bring forward or send behind. Click on the text box frame to select it, right-click on your mouse and select ""Bring to Front"" or ""Send to Back.""
Warning Your picture within the text box has a separate frame from the text box’s frame. Make sure you select the text box’s frame in order to move the picture's location, re-size the text box, change the borderline color and send the picture to the front or back of another picture.
