And here's the attached file of the email which is initially zipped:
Picture snapshot of the attached file when the zip is open, parcel information.exe (an executable file)
Notice that the attached executable file (parcel information.exe) uses an Adobe Acrobat icon which is just a fraud face mask (icon) of the real purpose of the file. It is not a real Adobe Acrobat file. It's fake.
When you received this kind of email, which is obviously suspicious and especially with an executable file (.exe) attached to that email, you should be careful. It's a scam and I'm pretty sure, this is one of the programs (a trojan or a virus) created by hackers, information hijackers, or computer enthusiasts who will steal some sensitive information (usernames, email, passwords, bank accounts data) from your computer. This kind of program might also infect your computer to act like a zombie. If you accidentally or intentionally click the attached executable file, expect some abnormalities in your computer such as:
- some features/applications of your Operating System might not function well (for example: windows will open itself, programs will run itself or your computer might shutdown itself)
- computer will hang (due to the virus utilizing a great percentage of your computer resources)
- and other crazy things will happen to your computer.
To be more safe, just delete this kind of email in your inbox or unsubscribe to the sender of this kind of email scam.
If you happen to receive the same kind of email, share your experience below in the comment.
