The Natasha Goulbourn Foundation (NGF), through the International Association of Suicide Prevention (IASP) and with the Philippine Psychiatric Association (PPA) invites individuals for the observance of the World Suicide Prevention (SuPre) Day with the theme " Suicide Prevention Across the Globe: Strengthening Protective Factors and Instilling Hope” on September 10, 2012 by simply lighting a candle by their windows at 8:00 p.m. to show support, for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one and for the survivors of suicide. Similar to Earth Hour, this will allow the Filipinos to unite and take a stand through a simple, effective and inexpensive manner.
The students, parents, teachers and non-teaching personnel are invited to participate in this activity.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.”
