To highlight the importance of the celebration, a Poster Making Contest will be conducted to raise public awareness on substance abuse among children and adolescents.
The contest will be held from September 1 to October 1, 2012. Three (3) winners from each level will be selected at the regional level and another three (3) each at the national level. The prizes and certificates will be awarded to all schools and pupil/student¬winners in the form of check. Enclosed are the contest rules and regulations for ready reference.
The target participants are Grade 6 pupils, 3rd year and 4th year high school students.
All school officials are enjoined to participate in the contest and likewise expected to celebrate the National Mental Health Week by disseminating and posting campaign materials, facilitating classroom discussions and lectures as well as dialogues with parents to emphasize the ill-effects of drug abuse on one's health.
The regional directors (RDs) and schools division/city superintendents (SDSs) are likewise enjoined to extend full support by taking the lead in the implementation and monitoring of all activities, in coordination with the NCMH and partner agencies and organizations, in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

"PROTEKTADO AKO LABAN SA DROGA"
POSTER MAKING CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS
A. The contest is open to all 4th and 3th year high school and grade 6 elementary students in public schools.
B. Artwork must be ORIGINAL, created by the students without assistance from others. Photos and computer generated graphics will be disqualified.
C. Black and white or color artwork depicting the theme "PROTEKTADO AKO LABAN SA DROGA" maybe submitted: line drawing, crayon, paint, regular or colored pencil, acrylic paint, magic markers, ink or any combination.
D. Entries should be a minimum of 81/2 inches x 11 inches
E. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, imagination, and best rendering of the theme, "PROTEKTADO AKO LABAN SA DROGA"
F. National Center for Mental Health and the Department of Education will choose 12 from all artworks submitted by all the 17 regions to be featured in a National calendar.
G. Winners will be notified by the 2nd week of October 2012
H. Participants are required to fill up the entry form to be submitted together with the Parental Consent form attached to the artwork
I. Each entry must include a complete entry form and parental consent and to be mailed to the Room 403, 4th Floor, Dorm E, Health Division Health and Nutrition Center Department of Education, DepEd Complex , Meralco Avenue, Pasig city. The entry form maybe photocopied. Entries should be mailed flat or in mailing tubes. Entries must be received not later than October 3, 2012.
