The GSP offers programs that are meaningful and responsive to their needs and interests. One of these is the Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme (CGSM), a special program created in 1975 encouraging Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts (young women aged 15-17) to initiate and implement a one-year community project in their respective barangays focusing on health, cultural heritage, livelihood and ecology. Now on its 36th year, the Chief Girl Scout Award remains the GSP’s most prestigious Award. To date it has a total of 6,571 recipients.
This year, the GSP will be honoring once again 589 young women from all over the country who have successfully undertaken various community development projects under the Scheme.
Expected number of guests is around 2,700 from all over the country including the awardees, their parents, troop leaders, GSP officials, and community members who will bear witness to the joyous and memorable event.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
