I am Gilmore Gelito Solidum, currently a professor of the College of Nursing of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

I am writing you to seek for your assistance regarding the chemotherapy of my wife, herself a professor from University of the Philippines Manila, who was diagnosed with BREAST CANCER Stage IIA last Dec 21, 2015. She was mastectomized last Jan 5, 2016. She is now scheduled to start her chemotherapy.

The cost of chemotherapy is quite high for us. Being both educators in government universities, our combined monthly salaries will still be insufficient to cover for the cost of chemotherapy per cycle (PHP 159,000.00 per cycle). She needs to have 18 cycles of chemotherapy (each cycle is every 21 days) which upon the computation of the Medical Oncology Section of Philippine General Hospital will total roughly about PhP 2.3 million pesos.

We tried seeking assistance at Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). We are thankful for the assistance extended by PCSO as they were able to cover almost half of the cost of a single chemotheray cycle (PhP 83,000.00 out of the needed PhP 159,000.00). We are sourcing out the other half and the funds for the next 17 chemotherapy cycles. We have two (2) children who are currently studying (UP Diliman and UP Manila).

Sir / Madame, I am praying that you could help us with the chemotherapy of my wife. She has served the country's young by sharing her expertise in the field of Pharmacy at UP Manial College of Pharmacy for the last 25 years. Her oncologist believes that her exposure to harmful chemicals in the Pharmacy Laboratory triggered the formation of cancerous cells.

We will be grateful for the medical assistance that you could extend. Please inform us of documents we need to furnish you with regard to this request. Her medical abstract and treatment protocol/plan is ready for submission if warranted.

Good day Mr.President!I am a mother of three sons. My youngest, an 8 year old boy, was confined at Caraga Regional Hospital in Surigao on October 2, 2015. On August 3 he died. It's a shock for us.On that day we are asking a nurse for the medicine of my child but the nurse said that we have to wait for the doctor to come.There is no doctor coming until 2:00 o'clock and no medicine for my child. My child's cough worsened. I went to the nurse station crying to ask for help.The nurses are happily eating. A nurse went out and put an oxygen to my child.My child refused I don't know why. Then my husband came, he was getting angry to the staff.All the nurses came out and put another dextrose to my child and they put 4 injections of different medicines. After that my child's eyes stick up.I shouted for help. The doctor called us. That moment my child passed away. We are shocked of what had happened.We cannot accept the worst thing happened to our child. Please help us sir. Last March 2, 2015, she had undergone a surgery (Modified Radical Mastectomy/ MRM) to remove the mass in her right breast. Unfortunately, the tumors have metastasis to axillary lymph nodes. In this regard, the oncologist recommended an immediate chemotherapy and radiation to prevent the rapid spread of cancer cells. Recently, the doctor suggested that my mother needs to undergo several tests like ECG, 2D echo with Doppler, breast and liver ultrasound respectively. These tests are quite expensive and added more burden to the family. Moreover, she has her maintenance medicine for her diabetes and hypertension that we could not take for granted.

We had already spent all our financial resources. We don’t have any other means to sustain her six cycles chemotherapy and radiation. This is the reason why I opted to seek assistance from you to help defray some of the expenses for the medication of my mother. I am Girlie G. Jacob, wife of patient Virgilio U. Jacob, presently residing here at San Jose, Santiago City. I took the courage to write you to ask some help in your good office for the chemotherapy of my husband. He was diagnosed to have Pulmonary mass right secondary to Bronchogenic CA or what they called Non-small cell adenocarcinoma stage III-A. Prior to this, my husband has already undergone a lung surgical operation but sad to say that the doctor was not successful to remove the cancer in the right upper lobe lung of my husband because it is already connected or fix to the bones. Due to this, he underwent chemotherapy. He finished six cycles of chemotherapy with vinerolbine and seven cycles of chemotherapy with cisplatin. He finished his chemotherapy last October 2011 and from that time up to present, he has a continuous check-up in which recently, his oncologist found out that the affected area in his lungs become bigger. Due to this, his oncologist doctor advised my husband to undergo again chemotherapy. We have already spent all our resources in his former operation and chemotherapy. We have no more means to be spent for his chemotherapy again. This is the reason why I am so eager to ask your help so that my husband can undergo again chemotherapy.

Good day Sir! I am Mrs. Merfren C. Catayoc from Minglanilla, Cebu. I am writing this letter Sir to ask Help and assistance regarding my husband Mr. Dennis E. Catayoc situation who is an ofw In Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was hired as a Technician Telecommunication under the Agency Staffhouse International Resources and Nasser Abdulrahman Al Ghesheyan Est/Nasser Abdi as his company. He left the country last January 26, 2010 with a 2-year contract. At first the company was up to date in giving their salary, later on their salary was delayed until last January 2012 no salary was given. It was also in January 2012 where it should have been the end of their contract but according to my husband they were extended for 3 mos. per Saudi law without any salary given….

Last April 17, 2012 my husband emailed me asking for help to call Mr. Marc Capistrano the manager director of the Agency Staffhouse International Resources or the POEA for their situation was getting worse and they are afraid they might be in prison for an overstay since their 2year contract has already ended. They were trying to contact their employer to ask when they are going to send them home, but instead for an answer they were offered to sign another contract for another 3 months of work. 26 of them decided not to accept the offer because in the first place they were not given salary for their extension from February to April and they know for a fact that they don’t have any visa permit to work for another months since their contract has already ended. So, they ask help from the POLO in Saudi, luckily the POLO entertained them and promised to help them and accompany them to Saudi Labor for assistance regarding their situation. The very sad thing about their situation sir is that they don’t have any single centavo; they were able to eat porridge once a day only with the help of their friends there.

Sir, I humbly and begging you to please give some time of your busy schedule to follow-up on my husband’s situation and the rest of them because I don’t have money to follow-up everyday to different agencies to ask help. Our only wish is for my husband to come home safely. We are really worried on their situation. We have a 1 year and half old son; he was not able to see him personally since he left when I was still pregnant. I could not sleep at night thinking on their situation and how are they going to survive there without any money.
