The Competition aims to:
- provide the participants a forum for the promotion of effective spoken English; and
- provide them the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking skills through comprehensive and challenging levels of competition.
The Competition is open to all Filipino high school students, aged 14 to 18 years old from both public and private secondary schools nationwide.
The Competition levels are as follows:
- Club Level Competition (Elimination Round) – to be held on or before October 26, 2012;
- District Level Competition (Semi-final Round) – to be held on or before November 23, 2012; and
- National Level Competition (Grand Finals) – to be held on February 22, 2013.
Winners in the National and District Level Competitions will each receive a trophy plus the following cash prize:
National Champion - PhP 50,000.00Runner-Up - PhP 40,000.00District Winners - PhP15,000.00
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
