The Contest aims to motivate the interest, promote understanding and appreciation, and encourage campus journalists to write about biotechnology.
Contestants must submit a feature article that discusses the theme. All entries must be written in English, with a minimum of 700 words and a maximum of 1,000 words. Information sources and interviews must be properly cited.
Entries may be submitted either by post mail (registered mail) or e-mail on or before October 15, 2012.
The target participants to this activity are the aspiring student science journalists from both public and private secondary and college levels nationwide who are staff members of or contributors to their respective school media outfits such as school papers, radio program or online media.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.”
