The answer is yes. With its growing number of clients and branches, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) couldn't avoid to serve the public even during Saturdays. Before the year 2010, BPI branches open from Monday to Friday only. Only in 2010, it opened its first 7-day banking branch in Cebu.
BPI Cebu Ayala Center II Branch is the first branch to open even on Saturdays. It is particularly located at the basement level of Ayala Center Cebu. It opens everyday from 10am to 6pm.
This initiative is a response of the growing number of borrowers in Cebu which are availing BPI's different products like commercial and consumer loans according to BPI Cebu area vice president Danilo Kimseng. He also said that the deposit volume in Cebu increases 10%.
Cebu is one of the areas that has the most number of BPI depositors.
According to Kimseng, there's a possibility that 7-day banking service will also be rolled-out to more BPI branches in other areas.
