Why does my Kenmore elite washer suddenly stop after loading water?

Why does my Kenmore elite washer suddenly stop after loading water? It fills up with water then stops, so I notice I have to open lid and move around the washer basket then it continues. Sometimes I have to do this few times through out cycle. ANSWERS:
