new defrost heater but wont come on
i have a older side by side GE. The lower evap coils freeze over. The temps on both sides are about 10 degrees over. I replaced both defrost heaters/with thermostat and the bottom still freezers over and temp still high. I have a mechanical timer, no board. I advance the timer to defrost mode,…and the heaters dont seem to come on at all. I came back and it went into cool mode (not very though). It doesnt seem the heaters are coming on. I have watched several vids and im still not sure if this means the timer has a issue. With no board, A NEW HEATER, NEW THERMOSTAT,…..does this narrow down to timer faulty. When i get back home tomorrow im going to check ac at heater when going into defrost. Any ideas ….thank you. GE TFX20JR fridge
